Printing on the Gateway Computer
When Using the Guest Account
Most unfortunately, I have not been able to permanently install the
printer driver into the Guest account. For some inexplicable reason, the
driver would just disappear from the list of printers every now and then. If you would like to print from the Gateway computer while logged on
the Guest account, you will have to do the following before you print. 1)
Click on
Start, Settings, Printer. 2)
Look for
"HP LaserJet 1100 (MS) on cp253a" from among the list of printers
available. The end of the name may not be visible until you have clicked once
on the icon or name. a)
If you
can't find the above-named printer, jump to step 3. b)
If the
printer is listed, ensure that it is set as the default printer. This is indicated
by a white tick in a black dot in the top left-hand corner of the relevant
printer icon. i)
If the
printer is already set as the default printer, close the "Printers"
windows, and print away. ii)
If not,
right-click on the printer icon, and then click on Set as Default Printer. Close the "Printers" windows,
and you're done. 3)
If the
printer is not listed, first, double-click on Add Printer, and then click on Next. 4)
Select Network Printer, if it is not already
selected, and then click on Next. 5)
If Type the printer name, or click Next to browse for a printer is
not selected, select it, then click in the box to the right of the title Name.-, type the following exactly as
you see it, 6)
Select Yes in answer to the question "Do
you want your Windows-based programs 7)
The icon
listed in step 2 should now be listed and it should be the default printer.
Close the Printers windows and you
will be able to print for this session. Dr. Ngun K. W. |
