I was not able to
install the software for my DC240. What should I do?
If you are having trouble installing the DC240 software, install it from
your hard drive instead of from the CD ROM drive. Here's how:
Copy the Installation Files to the Clipboard:
- Insert the DC240 software CD into the CD-ROM drive.
- Click Cancel at the Choose Setup Language screen.
- Click the Explorer icon on the desktop.
- Click the CD-ROM drive icon.
The DC240 installation folders and files are displayed.
- Click View > Options from the toolbar.
- Set options to view all files.
- Click OK to confirm settings and return to the Explorer menu.
- Click Edit on the toolbar.
- Click Select All.
This highlights all of the files on the CD-ROM Drive.
- Click Edit and then click Copy.
This copies all of the files to the clipboard
Copy the Installation Files from the Clipboard to a Folder
- Click the C: drive icon.
- Click File on the toolbar.
- Select New > Folder.
- Click Folder.
A New Folder entry appears on the C: drive.
- Name the folder (e.g. 240_Install )
- Double-click the new folder.
- Click Edit on the toolbar.
- Click Paste.
The DC240 installation files copy into the new C: drive folder.
Install the DC240 Software in Safe Mode.
- Close all windows and turn off the computer.
- Turn on the computer and press F8 as soon as it starts to boot up.
The Microsoft Windows 95 or 98 Startup Menu appears.
- Use the arrow key to select Option 3, Safe Mode.
- Press Enter.
The computer completes its boot-up sequence and a Desktop screen
appears with a warning that some features will not work in Safe
Mode.
- Click OK.
The words Safe Mode appear in each corner of the screen until you
reboot the computer.
- Double-click the Explorer icon.
- Locate the DC240_Install folder on the C: drive and double-click
it.
- Locate the Setup application file and double-click it.
- At the Choose Setup Language screen, select OK.
- Follow the prompts to install the software.
If the installation is successful and the camera and computer work
properly, delete the DC240_Install folder.
If the installation is not successful, or there are problems with the
