This must come as a rather lame excuse for a tip to some. I mean, if you can read this, does that not mean that you have absolutely no need for this tip? Almost but not quite. You could still access this page from another computer and not from the Gateway XL 1300.

The first time you try to log onto the Internet, nothing seems to happen. First of all, don’t panic. The world has not come to an end … yet.

1. If you have not started up Internet Explorer yet, right click on the Internet Explorer icon on the desktop and click on Properties. If Internet Explorer is already running, click on Tools, Internet Options …
2. Next, click on the Connections tab, and then,
   Click on Always dial my default connection.
3. If you have not selected your default ISP, select it and then click on Set Default.
4. Finally click on OK.

The world is now at your fingertips.
